Hi there,
If you came to this website to read my notes, you already figured out why I created a name for my art studio - THE MAGIC FLIGHT.
Yes, you’re right, with my art works, I want to take you on the magic flight using your imagination.
As far as the acrylic paint pouring goes, every picture is different, unique, and provides a vast field of interpretation and understanding.
As you already may see on the marketplace (and will see more photos attached to this website), most of my works have names. But these names have meanings only for me, viewing the picture on the specific position, or coming from the planned idea, or just how the paints lay on the canvas. You may see a different image by turning it left or right or positioning it diagonally.
You’re welcome to view every piece in the way you like and let your imagination take you into the world of colors, shades, and forms!
As tradition goes, I feel that I need to provide a little background on why I started to do this form of art.
But if you’re not interested, you can just skip it and start to view the pictures.
The first and foremost: I’m not an artist, in any way!
At the early school years, we all had the art classes, and I remember them only as a mess with watercolors, wet brushes and wet drawing papers. I believe, none of my classmates loved this experience. As the school years went by, I had a few instances when I tried to draw a picture. I remember two situations instantly. The first time I was drawing with a purpose happened during one of the most boring class lessons. Not to fall asleep, I decided to create an illustration to the book that I recently finished, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. It took me a whole 45 minutes and then a little more. Definitely, this drawing does not exist for a long time now.
The second time happened when I was working during the summer vacation at the publishing house as the corrector. We didn’t have too much to do but had to stay in the office. I couldn’t find anything else to entertain myself, but to draw the picture of the right ear of my supervisor, who was sitting with his right side to me! Yes, it was his ear! And believe me, every person’s ears are so much different and unique as their fingerprints. I was working diligently for at least a couple of hours, trying to have the picture in its actual size and detailed as possible.
However, I could draw simple flowers, but it didn’t go anywhere.
And it was it. As my life was going, I was busy with my family, work and everything that came my way.
But I’m a good photographer, especially to find interesting architectural details, or life situations, or pretty flowers. Also I still love great arts, and I try to visit the art museums in every country that we, as a family, visited.
Now, this is so much of the introduction.
How did I come to acrylic painting and specifically to the paint pouring?
There were view events, independent of one another.
First, I lost my husband of more than 35 years, then the Russian war against Ukraine started (we all were born and grew up in Kiev and still have friends and relatives there).
I was totally emotionally devastated by it but didn’t know how to relive my sadness and grief.
On one of these days, I went to Michael’s looking for some new pieces of artificial flowers and decorations for the house. Suddenly, I found myself in the painting supply aisle, looking at the canvas boards and acrylic paints.
Why acrylic? I don’t like watercolors – they seem too watery and undefined for me (the experience still coming from school’s art classes). I also don’t like gouache paints – too thick and heavy. So, what’s left? – right, acrylic.
Now, I bought a small stack of canvas boards (8*8), a set of cheap brushes and a set of acrylic paints.
And this is how my first actual paintings came to life.
